OK heres the scenerio, I have 2 hard disk one is 160gb the other is 200Gb, im replaciong my master hd which is the 160 for another 200gb HD. I have moved all my data to my 2nd hd, and ready to replace my 1st hd with win xp pro. I need to know the necesery steps to do a fresh install of win xp pro in my new 200 gb hd while safely recovering all my data on my 2nd hard drive. What kind of partition do i need to leave my 2nd hard drive? and under what hard drive name e:? f:? g:? i just want to be able to replace my 1st hd and reinstall win xp pro on the new one and when im finished for win xp pro to see and recognize all my data on disk 2. Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

Well, if you have copied across everything you need to the original 200gig HDD, it won't be effected by the new drive.
As you say, just reinstall your OS, drivers and any applications you use onto the new 200gb unit, obviously the new drive needs to be set as master and first in the boot sequence.
Just take care to identify the new drive, partition/format and clean install as normal, the second storage drive won't be effected and information will be intact and ready to access as normal, once into windows.

If your really that worried about it, disconnect the second hard drive until your finished installing XP.
