I have 2 data vg's and want to remove one and add the released disks to the other vg.
The vg I want to remove will not affect users but the vg I want to add the disks into is being used by users.
Could someone please run me through the correct procedure and tell me whether or not users will be affected on the vg I want to add disks to ?

Thanks

Users will not be affected by adding physical volumes to a volume group. If you have a volume group you want to remove, unmount the filesystems and then under smitty you can use the system management panel and go to volume groups and 'remove a volume group'. Again, all filesystems in the volume group must be closed to remove the volume group.

Once the volume group is removed you can add the physical volumes to the new volume group by using:
extendvg rootvg hdisk1

where rootvg is your volume group to add disk too and hdisk1 is the disks to add to the volume group.
