I get a SMTP_E_TRANSACTION_FAILED(554) error

Hi

I am deploying a new CE server, and have migrated via the migration wizard from one server to another. I thought It brought all across (no such luck)! Anyway, I am now in testing phase, but with email destination (via SMTP) I constantly get the following error "address error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TRANSACTION_FAILED(554)" - I have double checked that my settings on the old server and the new server are the same (this function works 100% on the old server) and they are the same...why would I get the error above?

Does the new server support SMTP, independent of CE? If you need to configure the Default SMTP Virtual Server, refer to Microsoft KB article Q293800.

Did you go to the report job server and ENABLE SMTP as a destination?

The solution was for the SMTP server manager to add the IP address of the new CE server to the permissions list.
