Consult your motherboard's manual. There's usually a jumper to clear the non-volatile ram (usually marked "NVRAM" or something similar).

On my Asus Athlon board, the jumper is marked "CLR_RTC", and is cleared via:
1. Unplug computer
2. Remove battery
3. Remove and replace the jumper
4. Replace battery
5. Plug in computer and turn on
6. Hold down <Del> key to enter BIOS and reenter info.

That last step is kindof important - doing this process will clear not only your password, but all the information in the BIOS, like hard drive parameters, port addresses, etc. Be really sure you can't remember the password before going to this extreme.

Motherboards can differ widely - try and find the manual before unplugging stuff at random. Putting a jumper across a fan plug will cause a short circuit, and will likely destroy your motherboard before the fuse can blow.
