I feel like I'm in the twighlight zone

I have a question, maybe someone here would have an answer? I'm determining whether or not to download a program but it seems that no one can give me a clear or straight answer about it, or people get mad at me for even saying the name of it.

I am getting no help from admins from this chat place and there is nothing in the faqs about this.

In this chat room there was a screenname that went by the name of videotoken. The admins of the chat told us not to type in the word videotoken or we would get bounced out of this chat?

I typed in the screename into my browsers search engine to find a site that offers a program called power chat and a number of other programs as well. For some strange reason I cannot get any help or information about these programs that are supposed to work with this specific chat client. This is like a taboo subject or something, I was flamed in one room for even mentioning the word power chat.

Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on? No one in at this chat place, admins or support, would even give me straight honest answers. The programs on this site look legit, they appear to be addons for the paltalk chat client to enhance the program more. I'm trying to determine if I should download this program or not?

I don't know what people are talking about viruses, I have none from being in that site and no one has gained access to my comp so the place seems to be all right?

I don't know, people act pretty weird when I bring this up, why?

If anyone knows what or why these programs are so controversial, which is how I am seeing it as, and why the name video token is a taboo word?

There are too many chat programs to even think about using something that no one will answer questions about. I would say find something else like ICQ or Trillian.

I can heartily recommend Trillian, even if ICQ is trying everthing it can to stop it working over it, it still works great.

I'm still curious as to what the other programs like power chat does. All I can see is that it is an add on off some kind to use with paltalk of some sort. That's all the info I could get on my own. I'm still not getting any responses back from the paltalk helpsite. All they say is "Don't click on links by people you don't know" well, I know that much and I didn't anyway -- I used a search engine just from a screename, but they won't tell me why this app is not discussed about nor what it is, or if it is all right to download it, especially since it is for use with paltalk to start with. They just divert the conversation or clam up silent.

I have tried other programs and so far in my opinion paltalk is way superior to others, especially stability-wise. That's why I would like to stay on it.

I don't know. Why do I feel like I must find out everything about this and that? For this one I feel like I really need to know what gives. This one is totally bizarre to me. bizarre in how people's responses, ranging from saying nothing to people getting flat out steamed at me, even palhelp and people who run the place steers me off like it's some kind of confidential piece of information. If it isn't a good program, then say so. If it is a piece of virus, then say so, if it's an illegal piece of program, uhh please say so then I won't download it.

Only one thing I do know is this much:
I don't think we're in Kansas anymore toto.
