i.e always ask to download pdf

Good morning
I have XP
i have same problem with fdf and pdf files.
they ask me to download rather than display.
Using XP.
So researched this ...and it says to go to windows explorer file types...and uncheck

tick the check box marked "confirm open after download"

so that i can turn it off.

Any ideas...internet explorer 6.0 on XP.

In Acrobat go to
Edit/Preferences/internet and make sure the box is checked to open pdf in IE.
