I have Windows XP Home and Internet Explorer 6. my problem is that when I log on to my ISP if I use the address bar to move around, fine but as soon as I attempt to use search engine the computer re-boots. I am told that this is a 'known problem' any one got a 'known solution'

Darn my memory!!!

I am sorry to tell you that I have experienced this exact problem on a PC that I had to work on, but I can not recall the fix that we used!!!! That PC was fine until the user tried to search on a search engine (or do a search on ebay) and then it rebooted!

Just to be safe, have you run an anti-virus on it?

By chance, are you using dail-up (modem on the phone line)? If so, what ISP? For some reason, I want to say that I recall a dialup service like AT&T or MSN being a culprit!

I could be way off base here--like I said, you are jogging my memory. I will try to figure out what it was, but in the meantime, any additional info you could give would be helpful!!! Mudskipper
