I disabled RPC in Windows XP Home & Can't Start it again

I was having trouble after connecting to the internet with the computer giving me an rpc error message saying that it would be shuting down the computer, and then it would.

So I Ran Services.msc and disabled RPC. After re-booting half the stuff dosen't work.

When I go back to services.msc and double click on RPC to enable it nothing happens. If I right click on it and go to properties to change it, again nothing happens.

Any help on getting this repaired would be very much appreciated.
