I renamed the links.
changed the numbers in rc Gregor.Weertman@mailcity.com

Check for a line in each of your init scripts that looks like this:
Code:
# chkconfig 2345 10 90
The '10' is when it starts (so this file would have a symlink name of 'S10network'). The '90' is when it is shut down ('K90network').

The reason your links got changes is something got chkconfig program to put the links back in the original, intended order. Edit those chkconfig lines in each script, and you'll be safe (until you upgrade or reinstall the package and the init script gets overwritten by a new, default one).

To do this without manually renaming a single file, do:
Code:
chkconfig --del <your target services>
... edit each init script ...
chkconfig --add <your target services>
/* Switch runlevels to test the changes */
telinit 1
telinit 3
