i cant start backup exec services 1

hi, I' having trouble starting backup exec services, I'm using ver 10, I have all the dependencies started. I changed the services from the ones that start automaticlly I changed to manual, and started them. The ones that were manual I restarted and I just cant get it(backup exec srvc) started. Plus it wont let me log on to the mediaserver. This is on my personal Win2k3 standard edition server. I installed the same version at work last week on 8 servers and had no problems. Both networks run in a workgroup config.

these are the system errors:
1: The Backup Exec Job Engine service depends on the Backup Exec Server service which failed to start because of the following error:
The operation completed successfully.

Number 2 and 3 are parts of an old zonealarm installation I used to run. I use an assortment of freeware that is supposed to remove parts of old applications that are still on the machine also I use 2 different types of registry cleaners that claim to do the same thing. can anyone recommend an app. to do the cleaning, that has a proven track record with them.
