Im trying to get the networking script up on my ultra10 andcant remember the command. Its the script that allows me to configure the network before the OS starts up. Its something in the etc/ somewhere. Please help. Thaanks in advance..it driving me crazy...

Startup scripts are usually found in /etc/rc2.d (and/or /etc/rc3.d)

Hope this helps

Hi alray,

THanks forthe quick response, but would you or someone know that command I have to type to get it to get the script to run after reboot?

Thanks

The rc scripts run automatically with a boot unless you are booting into single user mode.

rc.0 for shutdowns
rc.2 and rc.3 for startups.

Startup scripts in /etc/rc.2 take the form S<nn>script where the nn denotes the order in which the scripts are fired on rebooting. Thus S72inetsvc starts the S72inetsvc script after everything before 'slot' 72 has been run. This is because there are certain dependencies to some scripts which mean that other services have to be running before they are kicked-off.

HTH.
