I cant install windows programs. 1

Hello again friends and thanks for looking. I have this problem thats driving me absolutely crazy. When i try to install a program(windows works suite 6.0 to name but one)the installation wizard starts then after a about 60 seconds the installation stops and i get this message....

C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system is not suitable for running MS DOS and microsoft windows applications.

The message appearers in a standard window thats titled "windows 16 bit subsystem".

Please someone..can you help????
