I can't install my printer ( HP officejet 4110)

Hi. with my fresh instal window xp pro, no matter what usb I plug the cable in, I never get the " New Hardware Wizard displays". I do hear the dig dong telling me some cable have been pluged but that's it.

I also went to add printer , the wizard searchs for a plug and play printer but doesn't find.

Please help. it's driving me nutz...

Only thing i can suggest is to add it manually through the wizard. A number of HP printers should be available as drivers that would be closely compatible.

I tried that but it doesn't work. after that I do see a printer icon in the printer property but when I try to print ,nothing happens and I get a error message...?

I have found that you sometimes need to manually install the printer with the CD it came with. It seems a little criptic to have to install the HP software to get it to work. But what seems to happen the HP software has communication drivers that it installs, thus you can't install the printer unless you install the HP Printing Software.

I had a lj1020 that I had to delete and install the newest USB drivers for the motherboard before the printer would print.

yap , the only way I could install this printer was to load the software with all the unwanted programs. I aslo had to delete the drivers manually...took me the day to figure it out..

i am trying to put my hp disk in to my computer and it does not work i tried the cable and it is not it so please somebody help me or im going crazy
