I have a Win95 PC and I was trying to add the drivers for a PCI Multimedia Audio Device, but since I don't have the floppy with the drivers I tryied to downloaded from Internet, which I did, now every time that I start win I get that the explorer is not responding so I end that task but I can't get through.

I started in safe mode, and try to uninstall the device in control panel/system but that doesen't fix the problem.

Is there a way to tell win not to start explorer?
I would like to reinstall win95 but can't because I can't go any further.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes, you can.
You MUST have Explorer to run windows, thus, start in safe mode. Get a CD-ROM driver for DOS and install it (If windows doesn't recognize your CD-ROM in safe mode).
Restart to DOS, install the CD driver, and reinstall windows.
Make sure you install to c:\windows, and not c:\windows.000
You may have to rename win.com to win.bak before installation. Cheers,
Jim
