I cannot compile a java program. 3rd party editors say "could not initialize java vm" and when I try to do a javac in a comand prompt, it says "'javac' is not a known command, exe, or batch file". I have uninstalled/redownloaded/installed the sdk package at least 5 times and it still will not work. I am using windows xp, is there some setting I need to change in this gay os...does microsoft not allow you to use sun's sdk? (do i have to download the microsoft java kit or some bs like that?). I need to be able to compile a program somehow so I can complete my assignments so any help is appreciated. -Greg :-Q
