I can't cancel job - I don't have the rights????

Hello all, I hope you can help.

One of our backup servers running Backup Exec has a job that I want to cancel. On this server I can see all the other servers running Backup Exec as well and I can click on a job on those and cancel, view, whatever. But, when I try to do it on this one server it says that I have insufficent rights to access additional information on this backup server. I am logged on locally to that server as Administrator. I have tried logging onto that server as the Backup exec account and that did not work either.

Any idea how I can get the rights to so I can perform tasks on the offending server???

WHat is the Backup Exec service account? What groups is the service account a member?

I think you may need to describe the scenario with some set names. For instance: "I'm on serverA and am using Remote Administrator to access the BE (Backup Exec) services on serverB." I am unable to assist b/c I'm not clear on exactly what you are trying to do and from where (i.e., using Remote Administrator, Terminal Services client, ExecView, or strictly logging on locally to the BE server in question).

I first was doing it from my NT Workstation and when that did not work I went to the server that it is on. Logged on as administrator and still it said I did not have rights. So I logged on as BE and it still said I did not have rights. The only way I can do is it to go to the services and stop the BE services so I can get a job that I want to stop to stop. Then I can restart them and that job will be cancelled.
