Hello all,

I am having some difficulty connecting to our PIX515E (7.0) using SSH.

Below are the lines I have configured...did I do something wrong?

ssh 192.168.1.23 255.255.255.255 inside
ssh 192.168.1.24 255.255.255.255 inside
ssh timeout 5
ssh version 1

The client I am using is PuTTY. Everytime I attempt to connect, the window closes on me.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why it would be doing this?

I dont want to use telnet any longer than I have to ....

Thanks!

Sam

hello,

before ssh is working, you have to configure a hostname + domain-name on the pix. then you must generate an rsa-key (ans save this key).

then be sure only to access the pix with ssh-v1 (ios7 ssh-v2 works).

Ok, thanks for the tips guys. It turned out, after combing through the syslogs - that the client wasnt happy with the RSA key. Originally I setup a 2048bit key...I guess that was the problem, because removed the key and generated a "default" 1024 key and it work just fine.

Thanks!

Sam
