I can remember reading somewhere that there is a facility within windows that lets you connect two pc's via local ports and transfer files or if you have lost installation disks applications, i think it was called direct transfer or something like that, i cant find it anywhere, anybody got any ideas or did i just dream it up?

Hi think you are talking about dierct cable connection

START / PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / COMMUNICATIONS.

You will need a null modem cable, plugged in to each of the serial ports, and from there follow the on screen prompts.
