Some times I can not open Current Activity window in SQL 7 Enterprise Manager to see the current activity and locks.
It gives me time out error 1-2 minutes after I click current activity. The reason is, I want to see what lock are there, due to people complaining about time out errors in ERP application.

When I look at performance monitor, I do not see abnormal resource usage or transaction activity in SQL (ERP) server.
Huge memory and 2 CPU server with enough HD.
If I re-boot the server, it is OK a day or two, then it happens again

Has anyone idea, why I get error, when I am trying to see the locks in SQL?

Enterprise Manager often times out when trying to view Current Activity on a busy server. I choose to execute sp_lock, sp_who or sp_who2 in Query Analyzer. They don't timeout like EM does. If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and thread183-468158.
