I can not find my programs after upgrading to XP professional

After I upgraded my laptop OS from XP home edition to XP professional, I found some programs can not be found by clicking Start - then Programs. I did find the program in the "Programs File" folders. Does anybody know how to get the program icon back?

do a search for the programs you are looking for, when found open the folder and find the icon, right click on it and choose "send to desktop as shortcut". or drag it to the start menu. hope this helps.
