I need to connect this BCM to my LAN, it has afixed ip address as the vendor told me.
the IP address and the subnet mask feet my LAN config, I have a wireless router (D-Link 614+)with a built in DHCP server.
the BCM supposed fixed address is 192.168.0.252, with Subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
this ip address is not taken by any network component, and the router IP addresses pool is 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.254.
even evry thing is well configured, the BCM doesn't show up on the LAN.
I tried to communicate with it via the 9pins serial port but with out any luck, finally i tried the direct connection through a crossover cable but didn't work either.
I appreciate any helpfull ideas, thanks in advance.
Eddy.

In the front panel are any of the LEDS flashing.

thanks for ur support Guys, regarding ur questions: No I can't ping it, and all the leds are on and flashing.

if it is flashing ...the system is 'trying' to bootup

is ur 'vendor' giving any warranties or was it as is?

I would start by putting a monitor in the front and seeing if there is an error message as the BCM boots up. You could have a faulty hard drive or MSC card. The other problems you are going to come up against if it is a grey market system is keycode problems and adding to the system.

Good Luck

While the LED's are flashing on the front of the
BCM, you will not have access to the programming
through the LAN1 or LAN2 connections, whether direct
with a cross over cable or through a network with a
straight through cable.

There is a small pin hole to the right of the last
LED ( the 'fan' symbol I believe). Try pushing a thin
object ( a toothpick or similar item ) and resetting
the hard drive. If the LED's still don't come up
solid after 5-15 minutes, then there could be an issue
with the hard drive, MSC card or motherboard.

Good Luck
