We have 4 out of 20 I books running 9.2.1 O.S.

For some reason they started comming up with a Vurtual Memory I/O error. it then stops the boot process. We are unable to boot with extensions off. We get same error.

I have used Tech Tools and Norton on the machine and neither find a problem.

I have reformatted and used the original restore cd's to rebuild and I come up with the same error every time.

Any suggestions?

Certainly virtual Memory uses the Hard Drive as it's I/O source so this implys some problem in the hard drive, Have you run disk first aid? If you turn off virtual memory do you get this error? Are the iBooks under warrenty or Apple care so you can get professional help?

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Is there room on the hard drives? I've seen an error like that when the hard drive was completely full. I had to boot from a system cd and clear off some junk. Once I got over 100mb free it booted okay.
