I am working on a small navigation box for a website. I want the image to have exactly the same font, colour, height and format as this image:

sa-blueG_03-2.PNG

However I want the title to be called "Events" instead of "FITF Projects" and with two navigation links
"Romeo & Juliet"
"Reflect - ActionAid"

My problem is I do not know how to make sure the font and format (i.e. options like size, weight, sharpness) is exactly the same.

Does the image still have text layers? If it does, select the layer, select the text tool, and click in the text area. It should tell you all the font info, and let you change the text. If it's been flattened, I think you'll have to guess.

With such a comples graphic, and obscure fonts, it will be hard to match that. Trial and error, the same way the rest of us would do it, would be your best bet. Or you could really go out on a limb and create something truly unique rather than borrowing someone else's work.

I can't because I am working on a website that is already created. This is just one of many that are on the website. My wish is to maintain the continuity of the existing website so ergo I have decided to work with this graphic as a template.

Thank you mscallisto, hopefully by using the link I would find a nearest match.

Ah... then if you are lucky the customer, or your boss or whoever is having this work done might have the orginals around somewhere. I would begin by asking, that way you would know the exact font, etc.

Now, a couple hints, open the original, save as something else. Use your eyedropper tool on the type and you will be able to pick up the colour!

You will also have the exact size of the image, as well as the border and all you have to worry about is the typeface.

Another hint... Arial, 26 point, strong (not bold).

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
