it seems some regeneration is going on in the system . i did full system scan but hopeless.

please advice.

First, try a second keyboard.

Then follow faq608-4650 in detail.

Hi, sir, my keyboard is not faulty. its perfectly OK.
but infections are increaing .

i am typing from my keyboard except few letters.

Ok,let me see your FAQ .
thank you

satellite03,
sure there's nothing under those letters that don't work (like a paper clip)? no one spilled anything on the keyboard? like bcastner said, try a different keyboard first to confirm it's not hardware related.
regards,
longhair

I recommend that like the other person... try a different Keyboard.

How does your keyboard behave in Safe Mode? if it is OK then you will have to remove all the malware from you system via -

Removing adware & spyware
faq608-4650

Microsoft (GIANT Antispyware) Beta available
Thread779-979113

Using the Windows Key + U will give you access to the inbuilt On-Screen keyboard to use as an alternative keyboard.

Ok, thanks for all the response. Now, problem is much more serious.

i restarted my machine. i can not login now. because, I can not type the password. my password for administrator is "administrator" but i can not type the letter "s". and so i am not able to logged into my machine.

But there is a good news that i also have a guest account which has no password. so i can enter into my system as a guest. but as you know, i am not able to access some program because i dont have administrative privileges.

thanks for all the inputs.

linney you have given an excellent idea. i dont know whether
Safe Mode demands any administrated password. well, i w'll check my keyboard in Safe Mode.

another thing, you have told

Using the Windows Key + U will give you access to the inbuilt On-Screen keyboard to use as an alternative keyboard.

plz plz plz tell me the steps how to do alternative keyboard.

it seems i can enter my admin password through onscreen keyborad. can i do that ? if thats possible, then i could get into admin mode and run various spyware, trojan removal software.

though before restarting the machine, i did scan with adware SE, spyboat and mcafee 8.oi and got 33 , 66 , and several trojans . they got deleted .

Ok, thanks. i am posting message from another machine. i am going to read the FAQs you people have provided.

thank you

here is one more message i just want to share.
You know , i usued Microsoft antispyware a long time ago.

but nobody gave this software a good ranking. it was given the lowest ranking comparative to other spyware removal softwares.

so uninstalled microsoft antispyware because i lost faith in it.

But here i see, many people is voting for microsoft antispyware !

well, i have the installer.i'll install it this time. let me see, what it can do for me.

I have no idea what rankings you have been reading. Even at Beta, the Microsoft antispyware product has been on of the top rated products for several months.

But in no case should you use one product. I express my thoughts here: faq608-4650

But to return to your original issue, which I suspect is not malware, see:

You can use the On Screen Keyboard to logon because you can access it via the stated method at anytime (prior to Logon) as it is part of the Invalid/Disability Accessories and must be accessible so that handicapped people can logon.

Use it to type your password, if you get in, it tends to confirm a problem with your keyboard.

I am not sure whether you have access to the OSK Help menu prior to Logon, if you don't, just view it on a second logged on machine that is accessible to you.

Hi, thanks for the response.

you have given a link how to resolve login problem.thats good link. the link is telling , it may be the problem of version and keyboard layout or language problem. well, but my keyboard was active all the time before this disaster. It has happend suddenly this week only. so this can not be the problem of what microsoft is telling.

Anyway,
i have read the FAQ.

i have decided to do the following steps after reading all of your inputs onece i get touch of my PC.

Please correct me if i am in wrong.

step 1:
------
First of all, i dont know whether my keyboard has been corrupted or not. so i need to check/verify/identify it first. In order to do this, i will go to safe Mode. if i can type my password there that means my keyboard is fine.
if i can not type my password there , then my keyboard is corrupted. go and buy a new Keyboard. because "safe mode" determine whether a device is corrupted or not.

After completing the task of step1 i have decided to do the following steps.

step 2:
------
i'll do system restore and go back at least one month past .( OK ? )

step 3:
-------

Now i'll scan for virus, anti trojan, spyware removal etc etc. with all the spyware removal software as per the FAQ.

Step 4:
--------

If I am feel safe now, then i should install Zone Alarm (is this good software to check this kind of problem in future ? )

thank you sir.

thanks linney

>I am not sure whether you have access to the OSK Help menu >prior to Logon, if you don't, just view it on a second logged >on machine that is accessible to you

i have got the OSK here.

Now Its the time to fight.....

well, thanks all of you for the valuable comments.
Let me see, how far i can go.

Hi, i have done some progress.

but problem is not solved.

i did
=======

first i logged into guest mode(no pass) and opened OsK and typed the admin pass "administrator" in a notepad. and copied it. then logg off> switch user and pasted pass in admin mode. It worked and i entered into admin. then i removed admin pass.

After that

i went for system restore . i chose 7 th june . after automatic restart i got a message "system can not be restored on 7 th june try some other date". i left it. skipped. i scanned with spysubtract and found no infection.
Now, i am gonna scan with Trojan Removal and MS antispyware

so finally, conclusion is there is no infection exists.

so the problem lies in 2 things

1. my keyboard has been corrupted.
2. my motherboard has been corrupted.(this is what my friend say. do you believe it ?)

which one is correct ? i am confused. sorry, i do not have acesses to another keyboard to test at hand so that i could reduce my area of confusion.

what is your opinion ?

You never did say what the results of safe mode were. Did your keyboard work fine in safe mode? If not then go borrow or buy another keyboard for testing.

oh, yes i forgot to mention. i did test in safe mode too. but there i could not type admin pass correctly. same problem .

Ok, so it is the problem of the corrupted keyboard.its not the
problem of motherboard then. fine. thank you.

just now, i finished scan with trojan removal with result no infection.

thank you guys.

Yep replace the keyboard. Might want to read up on spyware in the FAQ's and run a few more detection programs. Bills advice on running more than just one should be gospel! It is very good advice.

Before running all these "clean-up" routines, you are dis-abling "system restore"? If not, you could be deleting the virus/spyware, but putting it right back in when you reboot!

>Before running all these "clean-up" routines, you are >dis-abling "system restore"?

no, i did not do system restore. but after reboot when i clean up i found no infection. that means there is no infection regenerating now. all has been cleared up.
i have decided to buy a new keyboard this weekend as soon as get some time.

thank you for the response.

Hi, guys thanks all.

I have recovered from the problem. I have bought a new keyboard(logitech) and its now working fine. I am happy.
thanks all PC doctors.

BTW, i have installed ZoneAlarm Pro not to repeate this situation again. is this enough for my security ?

I do not recommend their free "RegistryProt" as this is for 9x systems.

I also recommend their "Sister" product RegDefend at
