I am using corel draw to draw up plans for students taking woodwork classes. I have two problems when I use the vertical/horizontal tool I always get a box at the end of each line telling me the measurements of the lines,I need to know how to get rid of this measurement box because it is on the print out.
When I use the guidelines to make my drawings precise I would like to put small marks on the square I have drawn at different intervals, how do I do this??

all the best....BigDin

Hello BigDin,

It's sounds to me that the tool you are calling the vert/horiz tool, is the demension tool and if this is so here's how to remove the measurements that are given or replaceing them with your own.

1) After you have created a demension line and you have the measurement at the end go to the menu bar at the top of the page and click on "Arrange"

2) Then click on "Separate" or "Break Appart" depending on which version of Corel you have

3) Then select the pointer tool and click once on an open area of your workspace, to deselect the demesion line you just broke appart from the measurement

4) At this step you can either delete the measurement or insert your own.....to delete just select the measurement and delete.....to add your own, double click on the measurement, this will change it to the editable text mode, then insert your measurement.

5) After you have created the measurement you wanted, you can reposition it where you want, with the pointer tool

I hope this information is helpful to you! H osting

Hello rh14k
this solved my first question with no problems, thank you.
My second question was, how do I set nodes or marks every,say,2cm or whatever along a 12cm line so it is easy to see when I print it out?? Do you possibly no the solution to this or is the question notunderstandable.

thanks again,,,,,,,BigDin

Hello,
Corel Draw 6. The dimension tool.I have with help from the forum found out how to seperate and move the dimension measurement which comes at the end of each line one creates. It always comes in inches can this be changed so that it always comes in millimetres, in fact how does one get it to show millimetres?

Thanks...BigDin
