I am using a reference in my project to "Misrosoft ado ext 2.7 for DLL and security" I have noticed that on other machines (namely win2k) this os only version 2.5 and not 2.7 and so the macros I use fail as it just references as missing. Is there a way to check from the required references which are missing and notify the user of them?

Any help would be great, thanks

Simon

Two things you could do:-

To cut down problems, set a reference to the 2.5 library. If a higher version (more recent) is installed on the users machine, this will be referenced instead with no intervention.

Or, copy the dll across to the users machine and register it with regsvr32.exe (regsvr32.exe <component filename>).

The first option could save you a lot of work...
