I am trying to create an Access 97 report that lists names alphabetically "down then across" in a three column format. I have used Page Setup to specify number of columns and column layout. The result is down and then across for each page but does not carry across pages. Is it possible to do what I want?

Thanks,

Gerry Goldberg

What do you mean when you say "does not carry across pages"?

According to the graphic that is shown in the Columns section of Page Setup, a "down then across" two column report should have column one on page one and continuing on page two. Then column two should begin on page one and end in column two of page two. This is what I am trying to accomplish.

Thanks,

Gerry Goldberg

Sorry, as far as I know Access formats the report page by page. By "down then across" it means on the same page. It wasn't designed to run a column down several pages, figure out that its one-third done, and go back to column two on page one.

If anyone else knows of a way, please chime in......
