Ok, I upgraded my MICS 4.1 to XC added a second combo card.

The second combo card is on slot 1 while existing combo is on slot 2

It says trunk module starts in mod 8 and down and station 3 and up

In the two 6 port combo, is the slot 1 mod 1-6 and slot 2 7-12 ? I have no clue, thanks

lets see if this makes sense.....
card slot 1 card slot 2
companion only 14 8 trunks 49-72 /stn mod
companion only 13 7 trunks 73-96 /stn mod
stn mod only 12 6 trunks 97-108 /stn mod dn 301-you get the point.
stn mod only 11 5 trunks 109-120 / stn mod dn 285-300
stn mod only 10 4 trunks 121-132 /stn mod dn 269-284
stn mod only 9 3 trunks 133-144 /stn mod dn 253-268

page 161 mics 4.0 installer guide
station modules start at 3 and go up to 12
trunk modules start at 8 and go down to 3

I'm still lost ! Right now I have 5 trunk cabinets, I start them at 8, 7, 6 5, 4 and 3 is empty.

I'm assuming this is card slot 2 fibre port from top to bottom

Do I put the first station module at 3 or can I start it at 9 ?

My next question is, can I put anothe trunk at 3 ? and also at 9 and 10 ?

See how lost I am.. thanks for the quick reply !

1. you are correct. It is card slot 2 where the trunks are currently plugged in.
2. you can start the first station module at 3 or at 9. It dosn't matter. However if you are planning on adding trunks in the future you can only install the trunk module in 3 therefor you would have to move the station module at a later date.
3. no you can not install trunk modules in 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, or 14. you can only install one more trunk module on the system in 3 and then you can't install any more. (all of your trunk modules would be in slot 2 in positions 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3. ) you would start the first station module at 9. you can only install 4 station modules on your system in 9, 10, 11, 12. 13 and 14 are reserved for companion base stations. ( wireless phones )
[idea]sounds to me you need two t1's or two pri's ( if you don't already have them )

i have a single t1 but see we use verizon's voice mail system like call answering, my boss decided not to invest in a voice mail so basically we need to give each person a line to get voice mail. Sound very dumb.. if I can get T1 dids, I wouldn't need all these trunk.

I'm a newbee at this, I been taking care of the system for 3 years now, and just found this website so I'm lucky that you're here to help me.

I'm going to call the phone vendor & company and see if I can did with voice mail.. see phone company are the worse (verizon) :)

your boss didn't want to buy a voicemail so he has individual lines ( with voicemail ) from the telco for each employee........soooo if we take our local rates $40 per line + $5 for vm @ $45 68 lines @ 45/ line = $3060/ mo for lines x12 = 36,720 /yr[shocked]

actually the individual line is 16 here with 7.25 voice mail

before we were only 15 people, now we're like 40 ish..

before did cost 1800 monthly and minimum 100 numbers.. not i think it's around 700...

so only the past few month we added more employees... other wise the old way was cheaper...
hehe
