How do I get rid of this problem with the pagemaker fonts. It seems that every font seems to print like your seeing double. I have printed with word and it prints fine. Any solutions for this problem? Oh and its not the printer because I printed with other programs.

Thanks,
Bob

A few more details please:

Mac or Win?
OS Version
PM Version
PCL or PS printer? PPD? Driver?
Local or networked printer?
All text on the page or just some?
Restricted to one font or all?
Have you re-installed the font?
What happens if you create a PDF and print that?
How did you get the text into PM - typed onto the page or imported? If imported, how?

Does that mean this seeing double happens only with PM and with every PM files?

answer to other questions
-i have a pc computer xp as I mentioned above
-the printer is hpdeskjet 3820
-local printer
- all text on the pages
- all fonts print poorly
- we reinstalled the entire pc software again so all fonts that were there before are still there.
- we can't save pdf cause there is no pdf print driver (we did not have one before either)
- typed sometimes new stuff and other times copy and paste but all of these printed come out like a double (the second double text is lighter than the main text.) it looks sort of like it has a trail.
thanks,
BOB

version 6.5
it worked with xp before because we had it running but we got a virus that we were unable to eliminate and we had to reinstall the system software.
I don't why its acting funny cause it should not since it worked before. I tried installing it 3 times and its always come back to the same problem. Maybe it is something from the cd that is not installing properly or something...
thanks, Bob

Hi, Clue777,

From what you've stated, I haven't really got any good news…

As Adobe state, PageMaker 6.x is not supported on XP. Many people have reported numerous problems with a wide assortment of functions failing when they moved to WindowsXP. Remember, PageMaker 6.5 is an old piece of software whose architecture predates the WindowsXP systems by many years. However, some people have reported that the "Program Compatibility Wizard" has enabled PM6.5 to run as expected on WindowsXP.

While it is very easy just to put in the Windows CD-ROM and let Setup do its business, this method will eventually bite back and prove unreliable.

It may seem a chore at the time, but the recommended method is to install Windows onto a clean formatted drive.

Read Adobe's advice at: Windows XP Install Notes

Note:
Windows Upgrade CDs may require a previous version of Windows to be present, and may not install onto a blank hard drive.
