I am not sure this is right forum for MOUSE problems

HI , mY Logitech marble mouse has suddenly startted doing erratic things, so I dont know if it is the mouse or the programs.
In the OE, folders window if I click on the bar to scroll and it goes just outside, it changes the size of the window and I cant get it back again without going to layout in view. so I cant see my folders.
At one time if I held the left button down it would scroll now I have to click it on the arrows.
Does anyone know what causes these problems and similar in other programs.
If so what do I do, Or do I have to use sys restore and then try to find out what program started this happening.:-( by reinstalling the new ones one at a time, and updating too tho I cant rememebr what I updated now. Oh Help!!!!:-(

try a different mouse first ( dont install any software that comes with the mouse. Let windows detect it and use it's own drivers ). If that one does the same try a serial mouse ( I assume that you have a PS2 mouse.

HI SAseeker,Thank you for your reply.
I think the second problem seems solved. I had installed an AIPTEK hyper pen and tablet with accompanying software, so I think that upset the system.
So then the computer said it had a found a new mouse and installed it thru the wizard. Although I had already doen that. It now works fine too.
I had to go back to control panel and change a few settings, cos i need both right and left buttons to be left click I have arthritus and need to alternate the use of thumb etc. again I had them set up once. anyway it seems to be working again.
I'll get back to you if I have any more problems.

HI its me again I am hoping to get this in before my keyboard freezes up on me again.
There is a new problem now in that my keyboard and track ball freeze up. The hyper pen and mouse work but it is driving me crazy cos I have to restart everytime to get the keyboard working. for a while:-(.
Of course it is usually when I am in the middle of soemthing .luckily I start by saving work so at least that is not a problem. Have you any ideas. should I uninstall all my pointing devices and start again?:-(
I think It has only started happening since I installed this aiptek device I wish I could find out where the conflict lies.
