I am looking into setting up version control and a Deveopment Environment for a Web Project. The development consists of ASP/HTML/Javascript pages, Visual Basic COM Controls and SQL Server and Oracle Databases.
There are five developers working on new features and hot fixes. We currently use Frontpage 2000 to script the ASP and Visual Studio to write the COM components. The COM components are installed on the destination server and called by the ASP pages.
We have reached a point where we need to implement a more rigid development environment which will be able to cope with hot fixes and managed releases. The ASP files that we are developing are held on a server, one idea we have been looking into is to install PWS or IIS on each developers machine, giving the developers a personal development area where the can make changes, test etc.
If anyone has any advise to set me off with I would be very grateful.
