I am just starting to "play" with LINUX. I have Red Hat 8.0 installed on a desktop at my home. I would like to connect over a modem to a UNIX workstation. I don't know how to start the connection. When working with Windows, I have used HyperTrm to connect, but I can't find a telnet client like that in Red Hat. The telnet port on my LINUX client is installed, and the modem does work.

Can someone give me some basics to get started? I'm sure I'll have more specfic questions later

Thanks for the response, the connection I am trying to make is from the modem on my home workstation to the modem on the UNIX workstation. There is no ISP or internet involvement. I don't think it is a ppp connection.
