I am having a problem in crystal report. I have a log file generated and stored in a network drive. I want to create a crystal report of the file and export it to reportmanager as a text. It does not have to be fancey . It should just hold 60 lones per page and 9 characters per inch and may be 55 to 60 cahracters per line. Can anyone please help? I have to complete this very soon. I read about ODBC text driver? Is that something i can use?

thanks

I don't think you can use the ODBC text driver for this

I liked this way of getting data but the format is pretty specific

the first line is a column header reference followed by data under these columns something like this for a string variable text db

"Name","City","Country"
"Jim","Calgary","Canada"
"Bob","New York","USA"

In the old days we used these files as temp db for reporting from VB apps...not sure if they do that much anymore...but it was a cool approach I thought....No probs with DB maintenance
