I am a sys admin helping the DBMS group upgrade from Oracle 7.3.2 to 8.1.6 on some test AIX machines which requires new oracle kernel extentions. /etc/loadext -u /etc/<old_ext> unloads the old extentions then you can load the new extentions. Only when I run the unload I get "Cannot unload old extention". Is there any way I can unload the old extention with out rebooting the box? Or is there a reason the extentions are not able to unload. There are no oracle processes running when I try the unload. Rebooting isn't a good option when we move this upgrade to production.

Thanks in advance.
