I have a bcm50 no internall router interfaced with an existing LAN. I set up an I 2004 set using partial DHCP and s1 s2 to bcm ip address. All works fine internally. any active port on our LAN can be used and the set works great! I have an existing VPN connection to the office network and try connecting the phone from network port to the phone then from the phone to the computer. I establish VPN conection on computer but phone dosnt connect. What am I missing?

Are you using the i2050 softphone on your PC?

If you're using the i2004 at home, you need a hardware VPN router to connect the phone to.

i was trying to set up the i2004. i guess i will give the 2050 a go. i also read that the 2004 can be hardware vpn like you said or i can get another nic for the PC and set the gateway of the set with pc ip address. Has anyone tried this?
