I am configuring a workflow in Sharepoint 2013 which I wish to send an email.

On the list of users their domain/username is preceeded with i:0#.w|

How do I switch this feature off?

I know I am late and you may found the ans. by now.

I have just recently taken up a SharePoint 2013 project and was perplexed by the same thing. Did a lot of search and found out the following:

This behavior is by design. This behavior is related to profile synchronization from the Office 365 Directory Service.

Being said though, I couldn't find something on Microsoft TechNet.

If you managed to get more information about it, please pass that to me.
