Has anyone had any experience with this problem? I have had 3 publications where the hyphens get dropped from the text, making it very difficult to proofread. I have looked at fonts and they are all postscript (not TT). Would like to remedy this before I put together any more large pubs...ideas??

You might try going to the Paragraph palette and click the triangle at the top right to Show Options. Then make sure that the little "hyphenate" box at the bottom is checked

Using OSX 10.3.8 on a G4

It has to do with exceptions, sometimes the hyphenate algorithms don't work. The only workaround is to create your own exceptions to override the standard way of hyphenating text the correct way. (read the help to know how to do it)

Don't forget that when you deliver a ID document to a ptinter you have to include your own exceptions when you deliver the file. When delivering a pdf you don't have keep notice of this option. (it is found in your prefereneces.
