hypertext links in the rich text control???

It appears that the rich text control version 6.0 (that ships stock with visual basic) does not support hypertext links. . . Is there a more recent version of this control? . . .or if the control does actually support hypertext links . . .what do I need to do? . . .(I can think of creative programatic ways to do it . . .but I don't want to explore those avenues . . would rather know how the control supports it)
