Trying to do a very simple and basic modem dial out and am having this problem.

Create a new connection with the settings that I need, this includes 7-0-1. I save it and it is there ok, problem is that when I go to execute and get to the "dial now" button, the setting change to 8-n-1 every time just before the modem starts to dial out.

I have reset the settings, applied/saved and with the same results. I know that there is something simple that I am overlooking but I just do not know what it is. A setting somewhere is overriding my settings.

Any thoughts?

See if you can track down the actual Registry location for the settings.

Are you using an Administrator user?

Are you rebooting after making the change?
