My Window ME has a folder named Hyperterm but it does not have a hyperterm.exe file.

Is this a Microsoft program? I can't find it there.

Where can I download the hyperterm program?

It is a program supplied with the OS, being licensed from the copyright owners.

You might try adding/removing programs and see if it is one of the communication accessories available in ME setup. I can't remember.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

Click on Add/Remove Programs, Click tab Windows Setup, Click on Communications, Click on Details you should find it there. You will probably need the ME CD.

Thanks Edfair, Wolluf, and Billy71 for the help.
I did a search on my computer and no form of hyperterm or hypertrm was found.
So I downloaded Hilgraeve's program. It works great.

However I was not able to connect to my modem to get the CallerID info (which was my original goal) until I found:
and read the list of valid AT commands:
ATZ
AT#CID=1
AT+VCID=1
AT#CC1
AT*ID1
AT%CCID=1
AT#CLS=8#CID=1

Turns out AT#CID=1 works for my modem.
