We have a Windows 3.1 box to send instructions to a CNC machine using Terminal. Attempts by no less than 3 system admins over the years to upgrade to Win9X failed due to the Hyperterminal application does not seem to work the same way. The machine will return "Framing Error" There is only one setting that does not seem to be available in Hyperterminal - Strip LF (line feed?) which was by default selected, we need to deselect before transfering the file.

I see two possible solutions:
Can anyone tell me how to change the Line feed settings in Hyperterminal?
-OR-
How do I get Terminal to run in Win98 without hogging all the resources and hanging the system.

Any suggestions are greatly appriciated.
Thanx.
Gary C.

Have you tried "ASCII Setup" within the connection Properties in the HyperTerminal File menu? There is an option to send LF or not in there, as well as one for receive.

Looks trivial to me, but I've never tested it. Maybe the option is defective?
