Dear All,
I do not know whether this is the correct group to post this question, but please excuse me if it isn't.
My problem is that when I click on a hyperlink or type in an address into IE (my version is 5.5), a totally wrong page is displayed in the browser.
There are two issues that make this problem especially odd; one is that this wrong page is always the same etc...), and the second is that it appears regardless of what address I actually had tried to reach. As an example for the second issue, I had tried to get to after typing that into the address field, I instead get the apps5.oingo.com site.
An additional peculiarity is that when the incorrect site displays in the browser, it's address is not shown in the address field. Instead, the address field displays the address I tried to reach.
I am just wondering whether I might have some sort of a little program hiding somewhere on my computer, causing this problem...or could there be an other cause to it? (such as a problem on the network? I checked the hosts
file on my pc, but that has only two entries and neither one of them is related to this problem.)
I do recall that a similar problem existed on one of my friends computers some time ago, but that issue had eventually disappeared.
Any help in resolving this mystery would be appreciated,
JJ
