hyperlinks in outlook not working

I have Windows 7, and for a few weeks now my hyperlinks in MS Outlook open my home page which is msn.com

I noticed that I have to I.E. 8 on my computer 245 bit and 64 bit, with the 64 bit I am unable to open anything with the Flash Player from Adobe and I can't install it.

I was google this issue and was told it is an IE browser issue.

Is there an easy fix, I.E is my default browser, "make default" box is greyed out.
any ideas?
