All of a sudden My hyperlinks do not work either in IE 6 or in OE 6

I reregistered successfully
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

No help

I repaired IE 6

I did deep virus, adware and spyware scans nothing found

When I click on the hyper linkeither in email as I did to come here of from within a webpage nothing happens I click on the hyperlink and the name of the URL shows up at the bottom lefthand corner and that is it
IE does not open just like it has locked up. I can copy and paste the URL into the manually opened IE and then it works.

Register these also:
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Browseui.dll

If no good, fire up regedit and check that the following match.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

I have essentially the same problem with IE 5.5 (WIN 95). When I am using Outlook Express to click on a hyperlink, it brings up the IE window, and hangs there. If I go to that window and click "stop", highlight the web address and press enter, the web page displays. The same holds true if I right click to open a new window in IE, the window opens and hangs there until I click "stop", then highlight the web address and press enter. This just started happening - out of the blue.
thanks,
Dave

Go to Windows Explorer and then go to TOOLS - FOLDER OPTIONS - FILE TYPES. Look up the file type URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (you can press the letter N as a way to quickly get to the file types listed as N/A which this is assuming your on W2K or later)

Check the command line that is running for this file type. The command should similar to this

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome "%1"

(this all depends if DDE is being used as to how exactly the command line will read) joegz

Hyperlinks don't work

Regarding thread 608-491816 -

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - Q281679 indicates

(in part) :

The (Default) value setting in one or more of the following registry keys points to an incorrect location for the Urlmon.dll file:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{79eac9e0-baf9-11ce-8c82-00aa004ba90b}\InprocServer32]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{79eac9f1-baf9-11ce-8c82-00aa004ba90b}\InprocServer32]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{79eac9f2-baf9-11ce-8c82-00aa004ba90b}\InprocServer32]

This may occur if you install a customized version of Internet Explorer that was created with the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) version 5.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1), 5.5 SP1, or 6.0.
The following registry key is missing or damaged:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

If the problem is still not resolved, verify that the following registry values are present and correct:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
Name: (Default)
Value: IDispatch
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProxyStubClsid
Name: (Default)
Value: {00020420-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProxyStubClsid32
Name: (Default)
Value: {00020420-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

I opened a text editor for a backup file I made using ZD-Nets emergency backup utility for a time stamp of about 1 month-6 weeks ago, and these values for the \CLSID\ & \interface\ were still intact, so I know something happened at one time or other to delete those registry keys.
Is there a way to "import" those values into the registry in order to make them work?

and/or

the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 177054 indicates to

1. set Internet Explorer to be the default Internet Browser --- it is.

2. repairing and/or reinstalling internet explorer - I've done that several times with no success.

Other than calling $$$ and paying big $$$$s, does anyone have another good fix? If I can "import" those values successfully into the registry, that would be great.

thanks again.
