Can an Access hyperlink field link to a specific Outlook e-mail message? I see how it links to a file or web page, but can it go to a particular e-mail message? Thanks.
My guess is no because Outlook is an encapsulated application. The hyperlinks to a file or webpage all exist as files on your pc or a server someone and could be found using the file browser. That is not the case with Outlook messages. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidiings.
What are you trying to accomplish? Perhaps there is another way to do what you need. Good Luck!
If it uses .PST files - then as SBend says - these are embedded within an Outlook formatted file. If Outlook is set to save to standard folders (DOS directories) then you will be able to refer to them individually.
It's 99% certain that you use .PST files however.

Many thanks. I rather thought this would be the answer, ie., that Outlook messages all exist together. I expect I will turn needed msgs into hard files elsewhere and link to them. Merry Christmas.
