All,

Im pretty new to web page creation but am needing to create a simple intranet page. Ive got it all but complete for some details.
One detail is that I need to make a hyperlink or button to be able to get the current logged on username and depending on their domain group membership be either denied or granted access to the link. In my head it sounds doable but I can't grasp where to start first.

Thanks in advance
Clay

Truly not in HTML, since it is only a markup language and will help you determine anything. Depending which server-side scripting you have available, I would ask the question in the corresponding forum.

If you are using ASP running on IIS then it's going to be fairly simple to do this. Ask in the ASP forum and you may even get directed to some example code that will do it for you.

If you are using JSP running on something like Tomcat, JRun, Websphere etc -- then you can treat the AD as a light-weight LDAP server.

Regardless... it's a server-side solution that you are looking for here.

Cheers,
Jeff
