I am trying to hyperlink from an access form using a button to open another database on a different shared drive.

The name of the folder that houses the database consists of 4 words with spaces and no underscore. Same is true with the mdb file within.

As a result of some erros I incurred early in my Access life, I was told that Access was picky about spaces and worked best either using no spaces or an underscore in place of a space in both the Shared drive name and the Folder name housing the DB. As a result I have always been careful on the "Naming" piece and had no problems.

We were given permission to access this DB from a department in another part of the state. I am trying to set a hyperlink from an Access form but due to the spacing issue, it will not take. Is there a way to get around this problem?

Just curious if anyone has a workable solution for me. Thanks. I am pretty much stuck at this point.

I am able to hyperlink to databases that have spaces in filenames, so I can't test anything. BTW, are you sure the spaces are the problem?

But since you still have no answer, I'll take a stab at it, but no laughing if it doesn't work...

Try replacing each space with %20

I will give it a try at work tomorrow and let you know. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I am so sorry that I did not respond back with you as I thought I had. Actually, it did not work but by finally doing some cut and paste of the drive/folder from explorer, it now works. Problem must have been with me and although I still can't see where my version was any different, it now works.
