I am creating a web page to help acclimate new employees to the ins and outs of our company. We have an intranet page that hyperlinks to a store of documents containing the information and forms the employees need. This works just fine, until we get to a folder that contains 37 files. When the subject matter required listing up to five files, that was fine; I listed them on the page. Thirty-seven files is a problem. What I would like to do is create a link to the folder itself so employees can open the file of their choice. I'm not finding help anywhere else, I hope someone here can help me.

I did find thread 256-238889, which appeared to ask the same question, but the solution seem to go off in a different direction, providing scripting to create a list of files on the site, but that's not what I'm looking for. Is there a way to direct users to that folder via a hyperlink of some kind? Or will I have to just list the file path on the web page and let them fend for themselves?

We're using FrontPage 2000, Windows 2000 OS and Servers.

To see a link to the folder, don't link to a specific page (you may need to link to a page and manually remove the page from the code). However, bear in mind that many network Web sites do have security restrictions that prevent people from going into the actual folders. Make sure you test it first.

As an alternative, you can go to the FrontPage folder view. Select all the files you want to link to. Copy them, and then go to an HTML page and Paste them in. This will paste all 37 links all at once (it works in 2002; I can't say if it does for 2000).

The files are kept on a separate fileserver, subject to additions and revisions by another department that may not be made if the files are copied to the webserver. Is there a way to link to the folder on the fileserver?
