Hyperlink option is grayed out in Format

I am running CR 8.5 in a MS SQL environment and would like to use the Hyperlink option on a database field to spawn a subreport.

The main report contains an analysis of invoiced items including INVOICE numbers. The user would like to click on a particular INVOICE number and retreive a copy of the whole invoice.

I have set up a sub-report called "INVOICE COPY" and all it needs to know is the INVOICE number from the Hyperlink in order to function properly.

Unfortunately, when trying to format the data base field "INVOICE" in the main report as a hyperlink, it is grayed out.

If you have created this as an on-demand subreport, you can right click on the subreport->format subreport->subreport->on-demand subreport->subreport caption->x+2 and enter:

totext({table.invoicenumber},0,"")

The subreport should be linked to the main report on the invoice number field.
