Hyperlink not working in Word nor Excel

I'm absolutely stumpted by this problem which appears to be so simple.

I have a number of machines that appear to be configured the same. Some work fine - others do not.

The Problem:
On some machines the following Hyperlink does not work from Word nor Excel:

"The page cannot be displayed" is returned
HOWEVER - if you then click GO in address bar, IT WORKS !!!!

Note that the following hyperlinks DO WORK on the 'faulty' machines:

http://www.jet2.com/cgi-bin/airkiosk/I7/181002i?LS=2&LANG=EN

I've tried to see what settings are different but to no avail. Now starting to drive me nuts.

I guess there must be some HTTP association that I'm not aware of.

Any ideas welcome.

Solved.
Some machines did not have latest Windows upgrades.
Downloaded them and problem went away.
So there was a fix amonst these.

You don't mention which version of Office you are using, but I noticed that the link which is not working has more than 64 characters while the others have fewer than 64 characters.

Is it possible that the computers which aren't working don't have the newer service pack for Office 2000 which corrected the 64 character limit problem associate with Office links?
